Why Trans Seal

Trans Seal I® is a non-toxic, water-based polyvinyl emulsion that delivers long-term dust suppression and soil stabilization. When applied, it binds loose surface particles to form a durable crust that controls fugitive dust emissions, including fine PM₁₀ particulate, and reduces erosion. Its extended performance minimizes watering and maintenance requirements, helping conserve water, lower operating costs, and improve site safety.

Originally developed as a coal-car topper to stop coal-dust blowback from railcars in transit, it's equally proven on mine haul roads and stockpiles. Unlike salt-based suppressants (MgCl₂), it performs in low-humidity climates — and independent labs have verified it non-toxic, twice.*

Features

  • Conserves Water — Cuts routine watering cycles.
  • Lowers Operating Cost — Less blading & gravel loss.
  • Improves Safety — Visibility up; less flying gravel.
  • Forms a Durable Crust — Lasting surface stabilization.
  • Works Where Salts Fail — Reliable in low humidity.
  • Fights Erosion — Armors soil against wind & rain.

Where it works

Mine Haul Roads & Coal-Car Topping · Rail & Open-Container Hauling · Unpaved Roads · Construction & Stockpiles · Demolition Sites · Military Training Areas · Dirt Tarmacs · Crop & Agricultural Sites · Recreation Areas · Solar Sites

How it works

Sprayed on diluted, Trans Seal dries from white to clear as it binds surface fines into a durable, water-resistant crust — locking down dust and armoring soil against heavy haul traffic, wind, and rain.

Field-proven & safe

Black Thunder Mine coal-topper field test — 3–6″ crust penetration, controlled dust plume in transit · Non-toxic, verified twice: EPA fish test, zero mortality (2002) & three-species tests at 20:1 — no toxicity found (2025)*
